Pauillac: the quintessence of the Médoc
The wine of Pauillac is one of the most famous of the Bordeaux region in France. It owes its fame to a prosperous port activity due to its very advantageous geographical location: halfway between the mouth of the Gironde and Bordeaux. Located on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, the vineyards of Pauillac produce mainly red wines from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
