I've had some wonderful experiences with this wine."

The wines have reached a remarkable level thanks to the meticulous work of technical director Philippe Stoeckle. Special mention must go to the whites. The estate's Semillon grapes come from a massal selection at Château d'Yquem."

"Of course, the quality of the gravelly terroir of this second Grand Cru Classé in 1855 no longer needs proving. On the other hand, its irreproachable consistency and the growing quality of its wines are making their mark. A recent vertical tasting among professionals convinced me once and for all that the next vintages of Gruaud Larose will be ones to watch very closely. The 2016, a great vintage, is a good example: very elegant, fine, silky tannins, and lovely minerality. Very good ageing potential."
