I've had some wonderful experiences with this wine."

"In my opinion, this is one of the best value for money among the Graves crus classés. I have in mind Château Olivier 1990, tasted recently at the estate, which was splendid. The wines have reached a remarkable level thanks to the meticulous work of technical director Philippe Stoeckle. Special mention must go to the whites. The estate's Semillon grapes come from a massal selection at Château d'Yquem."

"2018 is one of those landmark vintages in Bordeaux. For us, 2018 is the 1st very hot vintage in which Bordeaux has produced a very high quality wine. It combines a lot of fruit, elegance, power and great ageing potential. 6 hectares in a single block surrounded by 1er Crus Classés, we're clearly looking at a real nugget."

"Of course, the quality of the gravelly terroir of this second Grand Cru Classé in 1855 no longer needs proving. On the other hand, its irreproachable consistency and the growing quality of its wines are making their mark. A recent vertical tasting among professionals convinced me once and for all that the next vintages of Gruaud Larose will be ones to watch very closely. The 2016, a great vintage, is a good example: very elegant, fine, silky tannins, and lovely minerality. Very good ageing potential."
