Sauternes En-Primeurs
To kick off the En-Primeurs season, the prestigious Sauternes wines opened the ball. The 2023 vintage stands out for the exceptional quality of its Bordeaux sweet wines. With their remarkable freshness and range of flavours, this year's Sauternes will be the perfect accompaniment to your social gatherings. Château La Tour Blanche, Château Doisy-Védrines, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey... these historic estates, nestled in the heart of the appellation, produce elegant wines that combine aromatic richness and invigorating freshness; essential references for lovers of sweet wines. So now all you have to do is make your choice (or several)!
En-Primeurs red wines
A number of wines from Pauillac and Saint-Émilion have also made their way into our boutique, to reveal all the diversity and richness of this 2023 vintage. The red En-Primeurs wines are like a ‘new classic’, with a variety of aromatic profiles and an elegance on the palate that will appeal to the most demanding palates. With supple tannins and an explosion of fruit, these red Bordeaux wines are easy to tame over time. Among our first arrivals is Château Duhart-Milon, the flagship estate of the prestigious Domaine Barons de Rothschild, which produces wines of timeless elegance. Château Clos de Boüard, a veritable wine nugget, bears the indelible imprint of the talent and passion of the de Boüard family. Or Château Lynch-Moussas, located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, embodies the quintessence of the Médoc's grands crus classés. Founded in the 18th century, this historic estate produces Bordeaux wines that combine power and finesse.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to the arrival in large numbers of the other red wines from the 2023 vintage.
A historic fall in prices: the turning point for En-Primeurs wines in 2023
What makes this year even more remarkable is the significant drop in prices for the 2023 En-Primeurs. This trend, which is reminiscent of that seen in 2019 at the height of the COVID-19 crisis, when many châteaux lowered their prices to support the wine industry, marks a turning point in the market for En-Primeurs wines. This year, Bordeaux's position has been heard by the châteaux, who have responded to the call by showing their firm support for the launch of the 2023 En-Primeurs wines. This is an opportunity for wine lovers to acquire quality Bordeaux wines at attractive prices.
To give you a concrete idea of this trend, some of the great names of Bordeaux have applied significant price reductions:
Château Léoville Las Cases
A 40% reduction compared to the 2022 vintage
Château Lafite Rothschild
A 32% reduction compared to the 2022 vintage
Château Pontet Canet
A 27% reduction compared to the 2022 vintage
Château La Lagune
A 25% reduction compared to the 2022 vintage
Château Valandraud
A 24% reduction compared to the 2022 vintage
