Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair

Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Domaine Thibault Liger-Beair is coming from the creation of the wine-merchant company Etablissements C. Marey in 1720. It got associated with the count Louis Liger-Belair. The Liger-Belair family too then the control of the company in 1869 after Felix Marey’s death. In 1982, Xavier Liger-Belair sold the wine merchant company and died not much later. His son Vincent puchase the building and decided to create a real Burgundian wine estate. In 2001 his son Thibault became manager of the estate after wine studies and a few years working for FICOFI. The entire estate is cultivated according to organic culture methods controlled by Ecocert even if the mention is not on the bottle label. A particular attention is brought to the harvest and the sorting with 3 different steps: one time in the vineyard, one time in the vibrating table and one last time on the rolling carpet. The estate has now 14 hectares of the following appellations: Richebourg Grand Cru, Vosne-Romanée 1ers Cru Les Petit Monts et Aux Réas, Clos-de-Vougeot Grand Cru, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1ers Crus Les Saints Georges et la Charmotte, Gevrey-Chambertin and three regional appellations.
