Tick-tock... Valentine's Day is just around the corner... that famous day when love floats through the air like a sweet melody... But wait, who said that only couples had the right to feast? This year, to pay homage to this celebration of love (or not), U'wine has put together a special Valentine's Day menu that will enchant lonely hearts and jilted lovers alike.

Enchanted prelude: mignardises and champagne 

To get this feast off to a great start, there's nothing like an aperitif accompanied by delicious mignardises, of course chosen by you. Enhance them with a brut champagne, with fine, persistent bubbles. The subtle aromas of white fruit and fresh flowers will transport you to a world of refinement and delicacy, perfect for awakening your taste buds.

Fresh from the sea: scallops and Chablis 

As a starter, a touch of freshness and delicacy is welcome with a scallop carpaccio, sublimated by a light orange vinaigrette. To accompany this delicate starter, we suggest a dry, mineral white wine, such as a Sancerre or a Chablis. These wines, made from noble grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, will add a touch of acidity and liveliness to enhance the delicacy of the seafood.

French elegance: fillet of beef and Bordeaux wine 

For the main course, let yourself be tempted by a classic of French gastronomy... revisited for the occasion: fillet of beef Rossini, accompanied by mashed potatoes, truffled of course. This marriage of textures and flavours deserves a wine to match its nobility. How about a full-bodied, elegant red wine? A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru? A Pauillac? These Bordeaux wines, rich in tannins and ripe fruit aromas, will sublimate the tenderness of the beef and the richness of the truffle.

Sweet harmony: chocolate and pinot noir 

To round off this meal in style, there's nothing like a gourmet, comforting dessert: a dark chocolate fondant with a raspberry sauce. To accompany this chocolatey sweetness, we recommend a sweet, fruity red wine made from Burgundy pinot noir. These wines, rich in red fruit aromas and hints of cocoa, will add a touch of harmony to this subtle marriage of chocolate and raspberry.
