The 2023 Bordeaux vintage 

The 2023 Bordeaux vintage embodies classic balance. The red Bordeaux wines stand out for their heterogeneity, while the dry whites and Sauternes stand out in this vintage.   

The red wines, classic in their expression, offer supple tannins and a beautiful fruity expression. The harvest was variable, with a more favorable trend on the Left Bank than on the Right. Some nuggets can be discovered, notably in Pauillac, a favorite of our teams.  

Dry whites are distinguished by their aromatic richness and refreshing acidity that enhances the fruit. Their quality makes them delectable when young, making them an attractive investment for both immediate consumption and aging. Sauternes, meanwhile, are distinguished by increased acidity, bringing an unusual freshness while retaining their characteristic depth.  

In terms of prices, a downward trend was observed for some initial releases, evoking those of 2019. Sauternes, which opened the 2023 En-Primeurs releases, maintained similar prices to the previous year. 

All in all, the 2023 vintage is a particularly interesting choice for wine lovers, but requires more guidance and advice, given its diversity and potential.
