The estate was created in 1920 by Claude Cuilleron, the current winemaker's grandfather. It wasn't until the early 1980s that Yves Cuilleron decided to devote himself fully to viticulture and winemaking. He studied oenology at the Beaune wine school in Burgundy, then returned to the Rhône Valley to take over the family estate. Under his management, the estate has undergone a veritable renaissance, with modernised winemaking techniques and the preservation of traditional methods. Yves Cuilleron also extended the size of his vineyards and concentrated on growing grape varieties that are emblematic of the region. The estate has set itself apart by prioritising the quality of its vines and rejecting conventional, organic and biodynamic approaches. His philosophy is simple: produce the best grapes possible. Yves Cuilleron practises integrated viticulture, with no regulatory constraints and limited manual treatments. Over the decades, the estate has become one of the major players in the Northern Rhône Valley, acclaimed for the quality of its wines, particularly the Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie. Its commitment to quality and respect for tradition have made this estate a benchmark to be reckoned with.
