Domain

Clos Mogador is a legendary domain and is one of the wine estates that had initiated the Priorat vineyard revolution in Catalonia, Spain. In 1978, René III Barbier and his wife Isabelle Meyer decided to move to the domain. They gave the name “Clos Mogador” to honour René’s aunt, Elisabeth Barbier, who was the famous author of the book “The people of Mogador”.  The vineyard dates back to the 12th century and uses biodiversity and regenerative-biodynamic methods today at the vineyard. Their goal is to respect the environment and this unique terroir. The grapes are harvested manually, and they use natural yeast for fermentation. Clos Mogador’s wines are emblematic and have great quality. They have an exceptional aromatic bouquet and are smooth and powerful on the palate. You can discover the typical fruity and mineral expression of the region through these wines.
