Domaine Parent’s family tradition began in the XVIIth century with Etienne Parent. He became friends with the future President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, in 1787. As a businessman, Etienne became a pioneer as he started to export Burgundy wines to America. Dozens of generations followed, including Claude Parent who became the owner of this historic domain in Pommard in 1803. Today, the domain is owned by the 12th generation with two sisters: Anne Parent and Catherine Fages-Parent. Together they manage the 10 hectares of vines. The domain is considered organic since 2009. They harvest by hand and follow this philosophy of producing expressive, authentic, elegant, and sensual wines. Domaine Parent has an exceptional terroir in the Pommard and Pommard 1er Cru appellations. The red wines represent 90% of the total production and are always more delicate to work with. The vinification is done in bicentenary cellars and produces wines that are used for gourmet tables with the other great wines of Burgundy.
