Born in 1929 in Nieve, Bruno Giacosa was recognized as one of the best winemakers in the Langhes region. He followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather and started working in the family business at the age of 15. His philosophy? He believes that the wines produced in the past were better, when yields were lower, farming was simpler but more tedious, and winemaking focused less on tools and techniques and more on preserving the fundamental attributes of a given grape variety. He produces wines of character, with great aromatic richness. He acquired the sublime Fallero vineyard in Barolo in 1982 and some parcels of the Asiti and Rabaja vineyards in Barbaresco in 1996. The famous oenologist Dante Scaglione joined him in the adventure in 1990, together they decided to bottle only the best parcels of the vintage. Died in 2018, it is his daughter Bruna who now runs the estate. Bruno Giacosa's wines combine richness and aromatic finesse, elegance, structure, power and longevity.
