Domain

Bewteen vineyard and politics, there is only one step for the Domaine Méo-Camuzet owners. Etienne Camuzet gaves its estate his impressive collection of Crus (Richebourg Grand Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, …) and was in the same time the Côte d’Or deputy from 1902 to 1932. When his daughter died in 1959, Jean Méo, a close family member, who managed the etsate and gaves his current name: Domaine Méo-Camuzet. At that time, Jean Méo worked as advisor to the Général De Gaulle and was at the head of the General Petroleum Union before coming back to politics in 1979. The Domaine Méo-Camuzet started only in 1985 to sell the wines using its own name. His son, Jean-Nicolas Méo, took control of the estate in 1989 after having learn everything from Henri Jayer.  The aim of the estate is to produce wines combining structure and finesse, concentration and charm. The balance has to respect the terroir and the vintage. The estate uses today some of organic methods: use of organic certified products, soil ploughing, intimate knowledge of the parcels and precised viticulture aiming to anticipate illness and master the yields.
