Château Bellefont-Belcier

  • Bordeaux

Domain

The Bellefont-Belcier Château was built at the end of the 18th century by the Comte de Belcier, the name of which referred to the nearby "beautiful fountains ". The 20 hectares of vineyards, 13 of which make up a single holding, are located on Saint-Émilion's southern slopes, between the Château Larcis Ducasse and the Château Tertre Roteboeuf. The property boasts a remarkable circular fermenting room, built by Pierre Faure at the end of the 19th century. For several centuries, the estate passed from owner to owner ending up being ranked among the very greatest, becoming Grand Cru Classé in 2006. Today the Château belongs to Chinese investors. It is the first Grand Cru Classé sold to the Chinese. All members of the team try to combine tradition and modernity while respecting the different terroirs and plots present on the estate. Every year the estate produces a very attractive, intense and fruity long-keeping wine.
