Purchased in 2011 by Domaines Clarence Dillon, the Château Tertre-Daugay became Château Quintus and joined the great wine collection next to Châteaux Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion. In order to complete the vineyard area, the owner purchased also in 2013 Château L’Arrosée located next to the parcels. Château Quintus’s name comes from Gallo-Roman that mean « five » in reference to the geographic localization of its hillsides and parcels but also as Château Quintus is the fifth estate of Clarence Dillon family. After being excluded from the Saint-Emilion ranking in 2012 because of its name change, Château Quintus is today renewed. Jean-Philippe Delmas, Executive Director of Domaine Clarence Dillon, stays confident: « the brand creation involves a long-term vision, time and humility». All experts and the U’Wine team believe sincerely in Château Quintus ‘s terroir, that proves a real potential. To be continued…
