Vintage 2014 at Saint-Estèphe

The 2014 vintage at Saint-Estèphe will live long in the memory, a year in which nature imposed its challenges, but in which the talent of the winemakers triumphed to create wines of great elegance.

The year began with a mild and relatively dry spring, favouring an early budburst in the vines. This was followed by periods of rain and cool weather, which delayed the vegetative cycle of the vines. Winegrowers had to be vigilant to protect young shoots from the risk of late frosts and fungal diseases. The summer was more stable, marked by sunny days and cool nights, ideal for the development of the grapes. Sporadic rainfall kept some tension in the vineyards, prompting winemakers to keep a close eye on the health of the vines and manage yields to ensure optimum ripening.

The wines of the 2014 vintage faithfully reflect the unique terroir of Saint-Estèphe and are a fine expression of the timeless character of this prestigious Bordeaux appellation.

Our favourite : Château Lafon-Rochet 2014

A refined red wine from Saint-Estèphe, it reveals aromas of black fruit, cedar and tobacco. On the palate, it has a fine tannic structure, balanced acidity and a long finish. An elegant choice to accompany roast duck or lamb stew.

The vineyards of Bordeaux, bathed in gentle sunshine and caressed by the sea breezes of the Gironde estuary, were the scene of an ideal growing season for the region's emblematic grape varieties. The weather in 2015 was mild, with a hot, dry spring followed by a sunny summer, providing optimal conditions for the grapes to develop.

Whether to accompany a gourmet meal or to be enjoyed on their own, the Pauillac wines from the 2015 vintage embody the excellence and authenticity of the Bordeaux terroir. Their ageing potential promises years of pleasure and evolution in bottle, making this vintage a real jewel to be discovered and savoured by connoisseurs and lovers of fine wines.

Our favourite : Château Pédesclaux 2015

An elegant, well-structured red wine with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, blackcurrant and subtle woody notes. On the palate, its silky tannins and fine length make it a refined choice to accompany mature cheeses.

Vintage 2017 in the Rhône Valley

2017 in the Rhône Valley was a landmark year, characterised by unique weather conditions and challenges for the winemakers.

The year began with a relatively mild winter, followed by an early, warm spring, bringing the vine's vegetative cycle forward significantly. This advance was interrupted by a late frost which hit certain parts of the region, causing damage to buds and reducing yields in some areas. This was followed by a summer marked by high temperatures and dry spells, which led to water stress for the vines. Welcome rains in August brought much-needed relief, allowing the vines to recover and continue their ripening.

Despite the climatic challenges, the 2017 vintage produced wines that reflect the diversity and complexity of the Rhône Valley. In regions where conditions were favourable, winemakers were able to produce red wines with rich aromas, ripe fruit and silky tannins. The 2017 vintage was a demanding but rewarding year for the winegrowers, highlighting their expertise and ability to adapt to the whims of nature.

Our favourite : Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert 2017

A remarkable Grand Cru of the Rhône Valley, it offers expressive aromas of black fruit, spices and liquorice. On the palate, it seduces with its generous structure, velvety tannins and lingering finish. It's the ideal companion for grilled meat or Mediterranean dishes.
