🍷 Wine Fairs 2025: 5 Tips to Stock Up Without Going Broke
- Fri, Sep 19, 2025 at 10:48

Timing is everything (as they say)
Wine Fairs are like sales: you need to know when to strike. This year, the season runs from September to October, but the best deals often disappear first. A tip: prepare your list like you're going to war, because facing a 30% off Châteauneuf-du-Pape, even your grandmother can turn fierce.
The crossed-out price trap (or the art of illusion)
That price "was: €45, now: €30"? Be suspicious! Sometimes that wine never actually cost €45, except maybe in the marketing department's dreams. A quick search on our comparator can save you from celebrating a fake bargain with... a real bad bottle.
Diversify, you're not a single-varietal Bordeaux château
Sure, your usual Bordeaux is calling to you, but this is the time to explore! Try a Côtes du Rhône, dare a Sancerre, or even (let's be wild) a New World wine. Your palate will thank you, and your guests will think you became a wine expert overnight.
The rule of thirds (no, it's not politics)
One third of wines to drink quickly (for autumn aperitifs), one third for the holidays (because Christmas needs preparation), and one third for aging (if you can resist temptation, hats off!). This split will prevent you from ending up with 20 aging bottles and nothing for tonight.
Magnum formats: is bigger always better?
A magnum is 1.5 liters of happiness, equivalent to 2 bottles but more impressive on the table. Wine ages better in it (less oxygen relative to volume), and psychologically, it makes an impact. Warning though: a magnum of bad wine is still... a big bad wine.
