- Tue, May 19, 2026 at 16:00

Cannes Festival 2026. Stars walk the red carpet. The jury deliberates.
What if wine had its own Cannes Festival? What if we awarded a palme d'or to the best bottles of the year?
The U'wine team has deliberated. Here is our 2026 award winners.
🏆 PALME D'OR: Château Pétrus 2022 (pomerol)
Why it wins:
Pétrus is the cult film of wine. The absolute reference.
The 2022 vintage = exceptional. Concentration, elegance, silky tannins, endless finish. It's the Parasite of wine: an unexpected masterpiece.
For whom? Collectors who want the best.
🥈 GRAND PRIX: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, la Tâche 2021 (Burgundy)
Why it deserves the Grand Prix:
La Tâche is the auteur film of wine. Like a Terrence Malick film: demanding, but brilliant.
The 2021 = precise, elegant, deep. A top-tier Pinot Noir.
For whom? Burgundy lovers seeking perfection.
🎭 BEST ACTOR: Château de Beaucastel, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 (Rhône)
Why it deserves this award:
Beaucastel is the chameleon actor of wine. Powerful but never vulgar. Like Joaquin Phoenix: intense, always on point.
The 2020 = sumptuous. Dark fruits, spices, melted tannins.
For whom? Those who want great wine without breaking the bank.
🎭 BEST ACTRESS: Château d'Yquem 2020 (Sauternes)
Why it deserves this award:
Yquem is elegance personified. Like Cate Blanchett: absolute class, never a false note.
The 2020 = sublime. Candied fruits, honey, perfect freshness, infinite length.
For whom? Lovers of exceptional sweet wines.
🎥 CAMÉRA D'OR: Domaine Rimbert, "Le Mas au Schiste" 2023 (Languedoc)
Why it deserves the Caméra d'Or:
Languedoc is the promising young director of wine.
Domaine Rimbert = well-made natural wine, Carignan on schist, freshness, fruit, energy. Like a Xavier Dolan first film: bold, fresh.
For whom? Those who want to discover new talents.
🏅 SPECIAL MENTION: Champagne Jacques Selosse, "Substance"
Why a special mention:
Selosse is the UFO of Champagne. Like Holy Motors: you don't understand everything, but you're mesmerized.
For whom? The curious and lovers of unconventional Champagne.
🎬 And the audience award ?
Château de Pibarnon, Bandol Rouge 2021
Everyone loves it. Powerful, fruity, well-made, reasonable price. It's the Intouchables of wine: not the most sophisticated, but effective.
