A history written in the vines
For centuries, this estate has been the cradle of renowned wines. Its vineyards, caressed by the gentle breeze of the Garonne, give birth to exceptional wines, where each sip reveals the deep soul of the terroir. To mark its 100th anniversary, Les Carmes Haut Brion is unveiling a wine that embodies timeless elegance: "Hommage au siècle 1917-2017".
A tribute from Carmes Haut Brion
A poignant celebration of the century and all the key figures in the history of Carmes Haut Brion, Cabernet Franc has been given pride of place in the making of this exceptional wine. Produced from the 2017 vintage, this grand cru was aged for 4 years in barrels and amphorae. The wooden vats, a legacy of the past, were used to house the nectar of "Hommage au siècle 1917-2017", giving it a unique depth and complexity. This grand cru has a full, mineral structure, characterised by fine tannins and a dazzling aromatic palette revealing nuances of sap, pepper and spices.
In collaboration with Barnabé Fillion, "L'Eau des Carmes" was born: a skin fragrance capturing the moods of a century and the aromas of this exceptional terroir. This refined fragrance is a tribute to Bijou, the great lady who was born in 1917 and lived at the estate for many years. "L'Eau des Carmes" reveals subtle notes of iris, violet and musk, as well as lightly powdered woody touches, evoking the elegance and charm of the era.
A goldsmith's rebirth
By reviving the Marie-Jeanne bottle, Château Les Carmes Haut Brion is reviving an outdated tradition and demonstrating its commitment to excellence. This initiative, conceived to celebrate the 2017 vintage, embodies the symbiosis between the estate's historic heritage and the modernity driven by its acquisition by the Pichet Group in 2010. Guillaume Pouthier, with his innovative vision, has designed a unique, homothetic bottle, custom-moulded in light, resistant glass. Every detail, from the stopper to the case inclined at 22°, has been designed to optimise conservation and reveal the splendour of the 2017 vintage.
This limited edition of 800 is a rare and precious work of art. The 500 available promise collectors an unforgettable sensory experience, magnifying the exceptional ageing potential of a great Pessac-Léognan wine.
A heritage to discover
By reinventing the past to shape the future, Château Les Carmes Haut Brion confirms its place as a rising star of Pessac-Léognan. An approach guided by a love of wine, innovation and a deep respect for heritage, embodied in every drop of this vintage. A celebration of the art of wine and history, encapsulated in a bottle, perpetuating the heritage of Château Les Carmes Haut Brion beyond the decades.
