The Château Rauzan-Ségla is a Second Grand Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation. It has an exceptional terroir consisting of fine, deep gravel. Its history began in 1661 when Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan acquired the estate to which it gives his name. For more than three centuries, the different owners have maintained the vineyard with passion and perseverance in order to increase its reputation as well as the quality of its wines. Since 1994, the Château Rauzan-Ségla has belonged to fashion house Chanel which adopts environmentally-friendly working methods: phytosanitary protection in integrated pest control, working the soil, plot selection and zoning, and manual grape harvesting in crates. Over the 52 hectares making up the vineyard, 8 hectares are grown according to the principles of organic agriculture. Château Rauzan-Ségla is a rich wine, with great finesse and elegance, like the great wines of Margaux.
