Château Pontet-Canet

  • Bordeaux

Domain

Château Pontet-Canet is a Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the history of which dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, it neighbours the famous Château Mouton Rothschild and Château d'Armailhac. After a succession of three families at the head of the estate, Alfred Tesseron has managed it for a decade, assisted by Jean-Michel Comme and Mélanie Tesseron. Their working philosophy is to intervene as little and naturally as possible in the vineyard. In effect since 2004, the estate has been fully converted to biodynamic agriculture, which represents a real challenge for a Grand Cru Classé. Château Pontet-Canet wines have been organic agriculture and biodynamic-agriculture certified for the entire vineyard since 2010. The vine is cultivated like a garden, respecting the pace of life and the people who work there. That way, the vineyard grows in perfect harmony with the environment, a philosophy that Alfred Tesseron wishes to hand down to future generations. Château Pontet-Canet therefore reveals all the nuances of nature with precision and offers a wine of great power and elegant suppleness.
