Clos Venturi is a relatively new estate in Corsica, created in 2005 from the most prestigious terroirs of Domaine Vico. Located in the high-altitude village of Ponte-Leccia, Domaine Vico was founded in 1901 by Jean Vico, and is the only centrally located vineyard on the island. In 1987, the Acquaviva-Venturi family took over the estate and undertook a modernization of the vineyard, followed by the transformation of the winery. As a result of this work, Domaine Vico wines won several gold medals in 2016, including at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris and the Concours des Vinalies Internationales. Clos-Venturi, while young and modern, is attached to Corsican history and traditions, as evidenced by the 1769 vintage that celebrates the battle of Ponte-Novu.
