The Domaine des Roches Neuves is located in Varrains, in the Loire Valley, only 5 km from Saumur. The domain was created in 1850 by the Duveau family and taken over by Thierry and Marie Germain in 1991. Since the 90's, the domain is cultivated in organic agriculture and in biodynamic agriculture since the 2000's. The vineyard covers 28 hectares and is composed of 61 plots, which produce red wines in the Saumur Champigny appellation and white wines in the Saumur appellation. The influence of the Loire River, its tributary and the Fontevraud forest create a microclimate favorable to the cultivation of the vine. The varied soils, composed of limestone, chalk, sand and clay, offer a great diversity of terroirs, with the two unique grape varieties present on the estate: Cabernet Franc and Chenin.
