The Marcel Deiss estate is today considered as one of the greatest wine estates in Alsace. The estate is located in Bergheim near Ribeauvillé, in the heart of the Grand Cru area and was created by the Deiss family. Founded at the end of the Second World War in 1947, the estate was born with the return of Marcel Deiss to his native region. Today the property is under the direction of Mathieu Deiss, assisted by his father Jean-Michel. The Domaine Marcel Deiss strives to produce quality wines based on the characteristics of the terroir rather than on the use of cloned grape varieties. Moreover, since 1997, all the parcels of the domain are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics.
