Château Doisy Daëne is located in the municipality of Barsac in the heart of the Sauternes appellation. The Château has belonged to the Dubourdieu family for almost a century, until the Debans brother purchased the property in 1924. Denis Dubourdieu, a professor at the Faculty of Oenology in Bordeaux and world-renowned consultant oenologist, became the owner in 2000. His sons, the fourth generation, took over after Denis had passed away in 2016. Work at the vineyard is done manually without herbicides and they use organic fertilizers to nourish the soil. They use integrated and traditional viticulture methods and use the noble rot “Botrytis Cinerea” for the sweet wine. Château Doisy Daëne produces three wines: a dry white, a sweet wine, and the l’Extravagant wine which is often compared to the sublime German trockenbeerenauslese. The Château produces a balanced vintage every year, with pure, elegant, and delicate fruity notes.
