Domaine François Lumpp

Domain

Since 1977, François Lumpp has been making wine with his brother until he created his own domain in 1991. He set up alone on the 4 hectares with his wife Isabelle who joined him gradually over the years. He had planted vines that came from Clos de Tart in Burgundy. The new generation: Pierre, Anne-Cécile and Antoine have been using the same methods to manage the estate as previous generations have. The domain quickly became one of Givry AOC’s stars in Burgundy. The domain has opted for sustainable viticulture after quitting the use of chemical weedkillers in 1995. The number of treatments used depends on the amount of rainfall during the year. Domaine François Lumpp has also changed its pruning system to reduce wood diseases in 2013. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted on a sorting table to guarantee the quality of the wine for every vintage. The domain produces a wide range of Givry wines with a lot of precision. The white wines have a lot of minerality, so they can be enjoyed when young but can also be kept in the cellar for many more years.
