Domain

In the XVIIIth century, members of the Parliament of Bordeaux Bertrand and Pierre Croizet, wanted to invest in small plots of land to create a wine estate in Pauillac. After completing their purchase, they established Château Croizet-Bages located in the famous hamlet of Bages. In 1853, Julien Calvé takes over, the Château was renamed Calvé-Croizet and then became Château Croizet-Bages when it was classified in 1855.   Owner of the Klaxon brand, the American Jean Baptiste Monnot bought the estate in the 1930s. It was then acquired by Paul Quié in 1942, who also owns Château Rauzan-Gassies and Château Bel Orme Tronquoy de Lalande. His son Jean-Michel now manages the three family properties with the help of his children Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe. The vineyard has undergone a major restructuring, the soil has been risen to give more sunlight to the vines.  Château Croizet-Bages is a wine with notes of black fruit and cedar wood. It has a velvety texture revealing some elegance. It has a good generous tannic structure with some fullness.
