Domaine Robert Chevillon

  • Bourgogne

Domain

In the municipality of Nuits-Saint-Georges, domain Robert Chevillon’s history started in the 1990s with Symphorien Chevillon. At the time, he worked about thirty acres of vines in the municipality. In 1914, Eugène-François becomes manager and buys a few Premier Cru parcels at the same time. After Eugène-François’s passing, his wife maintained the vineyard with their 3 children before 2 of them took over in 1946. The new generation then manages the domain with Robert, the one who gives his name to the domain. As of 2003, Robert’s 2 grandsons, Denis and Bertrand, are the managers. Over the past decade, the cultivation of the vine has changed due to a much greater precision that is now required. Denis and Bertrand maintain 13 hectares of vines with a high average age. 8 hectares represent the best premiers crus of the domain. The vineyards consist of two grape varieties: Pinot Noir for red wine and Chardonnay for white wine.  Working on a terroir that is known worldwide is a privilege. Excellent, well structured, delicate and elegant wines result from an exceptional terroir. The domain is particularly well known in England, the United States, Australia, South Africa, Japan and China. The wines are well structured, fruity, elegant and complex.
