Pierre Labet is a real familial wine estate managed by the Labet family already installed in the Burgundy vineyard since end of XVe century and who also built the Château de la Tour in Clos de Vougeot. They are producing great Premiers Crus in Beaune and own also plots in Savigny, Chorey, Meursault and Gevrey-Chambertin. After facing a quality decrease at the end of the 1980’s the wine estate has been took over by François Labet, great-son of Pierre Labet, who succeed in significantly improving the wines quality. The familial credo? «No good wines without good grapes”. This means particular methods for the vineyard culture: ploughing, disbudding, green harvesting when the grapes quantity for each vine pant is considered excessive. Harvest are fully manual, and the grapes are processed in the Château de la Tour. With a reasonable culture and low yields, the Domaine Pierre Labet produces exceptional wines with a strong personality.
