The Selection Committee
Our U’Wine Selection committee is composed of two devoted wine lovers and respected professionals with contacts in the world’s most sought-after wine estates: Aymeric de Clouet is a wine expert to the Paris Court of Appeal, and a fond lover of old vintages Bordeaux wines; Quentin Chaperon is our full-time director of sourcing and Châteaux relationships, tirelessly travelling the world to uncover hidden wine gems. Their mission is to secure allocations from the most coveted wine estates and uncover Rising Stars to continue expanding our 1% U’Wine selection.

Where it all started…
« …From my early experience as an entrepreneur, I learned that I had to follow my instincts and stay true to my values. Surrounding myself with great people, be they family, friends, employees, shareholders and Customers is the key to my success. Antoine, our CFO, is my rock at U’Wine; Florence, my wife, represents my life balance. Our ambition transcends borders and the anglicised U’Wine name is testimony to this. Our story has only just begun…See more

History: The Château Villemaurine is located in the heart of the Saint Émilion appellation. Its origins date right the way back to the 7th century. After a succession of different owners, the Onclin family have headed the estate since 2005, and more particularly Justin Onclin. Passionate about wine and a great connoisseur, he has undertaken significant work in order to reveal the excellence of Château Villemaurine's terroir. A new fermenting room and a new cellar have been built and the underground quarries, a particular feature of the Saint-Émilion subsoil, have been restored. Wishing to make Château Villemaurine a truly great wine, Justin Onclin and his team provide the best possible care, from the vine to bottling.
The Château Villemaurine vineyard consists of 7 hectares in a single holding. On a clay-limestone plateau, 80% of the planted area is devoted to Merlot and 20% to Cabernet Franc. With length, minerality and distinction, Château Villemaurine reflects the remarkable quality of this promising terroir.
